so i saw the new teenage mutant ninja turtles movie. my review: think of the best Chicago style deep dish pizza you ever tasted. you know, the one that's compact but its stuffed with layers of ingredients. that pizza is the 90's Turtles movie. the 2014 is more like the $5 dollar one from "Little Caesars". that's not to say the "Little Caesars" its not edible or anything , you can just tell its nothing special . only problem with this pizza, is that it has a long Megan Fox hair baked into the crust, and that kinda sours the pizza eating experience.

you might think that's just the nostalgia talking but when i got home from the theater i watched the 90's version for the first time in a while, and what really surprise me is that the Reboot last about 10 minutes longer than the 90's one yet it feels like it didn't last more than a hour. it all comes down to the pacing, which is something this new one really fails at. but its kinda expected , since they're alot of re-shoots for this film. the most notable is the Shreddder which was originally going to be the rich white guy, played by William Fichtner, and then changed, after what i assume was a negative screening or something, to be played by the original villan Oruko Saki. if you look hard enough you can see the parts they ducktaped together.

and the turtles are great in this new one, you can argue weather you like their designs or not, but the characterization is spot on. only issue is there's not enough of that on screen. and that Megan Fox.. yeah, shes the low point of this film. they try to make April O'neil the center of the universe but as played by Megan fox...yeah that was not the right choice. now the argument will come up to say that this is a kids film and doesn't need to be any more deep than cartoon episode. well the original was also a kids film, corny jokes and all, but it still had better use of their time with the characters. its has actions beats and slow moments to let you breathe and get to know the characters. it had soul. the new one just wants to get moving while telling you every bit of exposition while it gets from point A to B, and hopefully throw some character development if it can fit it in. and yes i know this movie was not directed by Michael Bay, but there's no doubt, it was made with his recipe.

Pretty much explains it

True with all points in addition to April being the main character for some reason Shredder was more or less the sub-villain who got distracted by her calling him name for some reason. Good movie just could have been better.

Jilberta, Jorge, Mr. Jeremiah, Juan, Carlos ... all together!

So hilarious!
