Apologies for using the same pose, but I think it best I use it for when I'm creating new species or characters, since I know I can get them down perfectly when using this one!

I will be doing a back and full on side view so you can see that he has fins on his back and tail (they may be tough to make out since they're black, too).

The only fur on him, whether you believe me or not, is his mane and on the back of his legs. Aside from that he is covered in smooth, scaly skin. Think of a Velociraptor.

Don't know his name as of yet, but I do know that my tablet pen broke when I was thinking of trying out a new color scheme, effectively informing me that I had the right one down. Waiting on my new tablet to arrive since it was thirty bucks cheaper than buying a new pen that went with a different tablet.

He is a cross between Xateriel and Dragonhawk. He can see colors through the gem eye as I refer to it, and see everything else as we do with the floating eye you see there. He can choose to view the world as we do, but he prefers using the eyeball as it takes time and energy to do it otherwise.

He does have a species name as there have been crosses between Verin'dra and Blood Dray. But they're so incredibly rare (most are killed if not hidden well) due to the two opposing societies (or monsterdom if you prefer) that most will freak when seeing them.

Also, while I say they're rare, the reality is there are quite a few of them--but since they hide so well it is thought they don't actually exist. As of the moment there is one to each environment/element, though their colors would make you think otherwise. He is ice/shadow based, but his colors certainly don't show that. Unless you think of Halloween or something.

His flesh and blood color is bright green, hence the scar on his thigh. So his tongue would also be neon green. Flashy.
