warning: pretentious art student moment ahead

i made this for an assignment where i was essentially trying to represent myself as an artist who is in a world where i have to compete against so much history to feel like i have any sense of legitimacy to like.. assert my practice or whatever. think like appropriation and appreciation for what came before me. also the fact that so many revered artists in the canon are dutch and that i am also ,,part dutch,, led me to choose gogh for this, one of the most uttered of all household names.

however.

its obviously a huge misrepresentation to put myself in this position because instead of even attempting to be like one of the 'greats' i draw silly little ponies on the internet lol
