Love this design and the dramatic lighting! My only nitpick is I think the character should be bigger in frame, probably, unless there's supposed to be a kind of "helpless protagonist" feeling. There's a concept in film called "headspace", and that is that the more space you give between the top of the frame and a character's head, the smaller and weaker they feel as a result.
How'd you do this, by the way, out of curiosity?

As for how I did it, I first drew the character, and then placed it on a 3d floor in Blender. The light reflecting off the ground is actually from a separate light, not the actual drawing.
this is an interesting design! I like the 3D environment, gives some gorillaz vibe for me for some reason. Can I ask why you work with this big image size?
Thank you! I make art with large resolutions mainly out of habit, but also because I find it very satisfying to be able to zoom in very far without seeing individual pixels.
