Launo is klauses soul double which shows up when he cuts of his shadow from himself and represents different parts of him. He comes out during the time Klause gets experimented on for his strange body launo rips through the laboratory in a rage of creation and destruction he flies out with Klaus's limp body to the Phantasma garden and disappears wall-Rue saves and first meets him there and Wall-Rue trusts him immediately because she's derived from the white fern she could see the memories of all the flowers and knew he was kind she rehabilitates him and integrates him back with people later on they go off to save Campbell from the rising negative essences that want Campbell's body and that's how klause and Campbell first meet. They are both anomaly's because of the essence and existence gaining a slight conscience the shadow beings have been inhabiting humans and controlling and slowly learning from them
