Mantle of Stars

Part of a larger project I intend to finish soon. This was the simplest of the drawings in this series, and only took me a couple hours at most.

Sketchbook as always.

Would you seem stars into your wedding dress on that special day?

Troisnyx responds:

I don't know. Perhaps I'd go for something simple -- I don't have a hand for embroidery, at least not yet -- but I'd always see Mary's mantle as tinted blue, with stars, even with the eyes of my soul. On that special day, if such a vision should fill me, I'll at least do my best to share it with Seán.

It is incredibly beautiful. You are very good at more abstract pieces. You should be do so as a business, asking for comission. People would lap it up!

Troisnyx responds:

Once I'm allowed to do so, I will most certainly look into it.

I love the texture of it it almost looks like it was drawn in chalk or something. Real cool!

Troisnyx responds:

Cheers, glad you like it!

I like it, for some reason it wont let me rate it though...

Troisnyx responds:

Because I marked it as a sketch. Things that are marked as sketches don't give the rating buttons. Glad you like it though!

For some reason this makes me think of the EU, a starred blue flag waving in the windy cosmos... though the uneven placement makes it clear it's no country. Maybe... the nation of space? A flag for the universe? Well, mantle of stars sounds perfect. Nicely drawn.

Troisnyx responds:

'A flag for the universe' is such a beautiful sobering thought considering what I'd had in mind when I drew this. Certain iconography depicts the Virgin Mary (especially in her appearance as Our Lady of Guadalupe) wearing a mantle of stars.

Glad you like it, thank you!

I'm intending to do a PV of the last track I released, and I'm now starting to work on assets for it. I hope it goes okay ;_;
