Cantinflas Cartoon

Author Comments

Created last year for a Journal in Spain. Dont know if was finally published :P

Some info about "Cantinflas":
Mario Moreno was a Mexican comic film actor, producer, and screenwriter known professionally as "Cantinflas". He often portrayed impoverished campesinos or a peasant of pelado origin. The character came to be associated with the national identity of Mexico, and allowed Cantinflas to establish a long, successful film career that included a foray into Hollywood. Charlie Chaplin once commented that he was the best comedian alive.

Reviews

Didn't think I'd ever see Cantinflas on Newgrounds in any form but here we are.

With a happy go lucky expression, I'm pretty sure he's made someone mad as usual. I think you did a good job in showing the kind of person he was, on stage and off. A man who played out of luck characters, which he himself grew up in poverty, still found reasons to smile and make others smile too. I just wish I had understood his comedy as a child but as a kid, the Three Stooges and the emerging Pixar films simply won out.

This picture has become a nice trip down memory lane and now I feel like calling my parents so we can watch some of his films again. Thanks for helping us remember Moreno the way I believe he wanted to be seen: a very funny and entertaining man.

*This review quickly became kinda personal didn't it? lol
