So, a friend of mine has recently recommend me this anime known as "Ultimate Survivor Kaiji / Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji" and it's absolutely fantastic. i finished season 1 of this show recently and i felt like drawing the main character "Kaiji," because why not?

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, i recommend you watch it. but just so you guys know, it's insanely nerve wrecking and shit keeps going up and down in the most unpredictable way possible.

Also, my friend has a blog where he talks about video games and other stuff. check it out. :)

I'm getting some old school vibes from this one! I think you really presented the character well, good job^^
Still can't get over the perfect shading on your pixel art, I'm so jealous of that!xD

GHXULERS responds:

Thanks! also, glad you think i'm good at shading, because most of the time i have no idea what i'm doing nor if it looks good or bad. :P

Pretty smooth character art, and from an almost isometric angle too! Feels like you got it all right except for the feet, which don't twist as naturally as the rest of the character, just plain straight/sideways on exactly he same line... maybe it all started with those? Also the fist: a bit lumpy.

Also, hadn't heard of the anime! Will definitely give it a look. Blog too. Nice work with this!

GHXULERS responds:

Sorry for the late reply, also thanks for the review!
Yeah, i agree, the perspective on the feet. i was initially drawing the character from a sideways perspective and i've decided to add the shadow later because why not? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and yeah, i'm horrible at drawing fists. especially when they're pretty small since i don't have much space for detail, curves, etc. again, thanks for the review, hope you enjoy the anime if you decide to watch it!

Sprite artwork always fascinates me, what program do you use.

GHXULERS responds:

Photoshop CS5. sometimes GIMP.
