Form a Red Ranger to the Blue Ranger, this is Benimaru Hanma.
I wanted him to be a bit of a more opposite to Royce Kingston.
That, and since Beni doubles as Silica Nexus' teacher and leader of the Red Scarves, I had to make him look the part.
He is the "pretty boy" of the group, and I did heavily reference Sephiroth for Beni's design, but I think it's fitting for him.
I'm happy the colors all blend together, and so relieved that Beni didn't dip into the dangerous Femboy category.
Hoping Beni still looks masculine enough, despite his good looks.

Bio:
While he was the 2nd ever Polymorphic Ranger to be created, Benimaru Hanma would not be completed until a full year later.
When picking The Big 5, Nicolai Nexus chose the silent and reserved Shoto Hanma to help him create NSN-002.
For Nicolai, he had felt this would be good for Shoto, as he was a part of the Hanma Zaibatsu.
Shoto had been wanting to find a reason, however small, to try and put an end to his family’s business.
Luckily for Shoto, he knew how.
During the beginning of NSN-002’s creation phase, Shoto would present a core to Nicolai he had stolen away from his family’s science division.
It was a core said to been fused with Dragoon technology, being able to harvest and contain up to 140 billion volts of electricity.
Nicolai, being stunned at the sheer power of this core, couldn’t help but to brainstorm a way to use this power for NSN-002.
While eager, this process would take several more months of planning, as Nicolai and Shoto worked endlessly in order to make the Voltara Spark work as intended.
Benimaru Hanma would be finished in age 77,981 A.R. a full year after the other 4 Polymorphic Rangers, but the wait was well worth it.
As with this core in Benimaru, he’d make great changes, as both Shoto and Nicolai hoped.
Benimaru would join the other Rangers to train with Royce Kingston and Captain Cryonis.
While the combination of being trained by Royce and Cryonis would be difficult, Benimaru out of the 4 seemed to improve and excel the fastest.
It was noted by Royce many times that Beni got some kind of pleasure out of fighting not only him, but also being out numbered.
In sim-battle rooms, Benimaru would go all out with an icy cold demeanor, using his electric based power and lightning katana without mercy.
While this act could be frightening, Beni was only doing this to test himself, as outside of battle he was completely calm and collected.
Royce would decide to make Benimaru 2nd in command to the Polymorphic Rangers, as Royce felt should anything happen to himself, Beni could keep the team going.
During their first mission under the D.C.S.F. the rangers would go after the Hanma Zaibatsu on behest of Shoto Hanma.
They were to arrest the head of the family, Toya Hanma.
It was suspected that the Hanma family had ties with the Cyber Syndicate, and Toya Hanma himself was making weapons deals with them.
While Royce would take the lead, it’d be Benimaru who’d end up leading this operation, as Shoto prior to the meeting would give Beni a detailed map of the Hanma Estate.
The group made their way in, undetected, and were finally there to take down Toya, who wouldn’t go down without a fight.
Toya’s guard bots were state of the art, and being their first real mission, the Polymorphic Rangers would struggle.
But this wouldn’t be for long, as while Toya wasn’t paying attention, Beni would get behind him and cleave his head off with a single high volt strike.
This blow not only killed Toya, but shorted out the guard bots, and the entire Hanma Estate.
The rangers made their escape and reported back to the D.C.S.F.
While killing was something the rangers would only agree to as an absolute last resort, Beni saw Toya’s death as something that needed to happen.
No one particularly objected, but this action deep down would unsettle Beni a bit, with how easily he killed Toya.
However, he’d push this feeling down, as he’d continue his run with the Polymorphic Rangers for the next few years.
A few years later, Kevlar Nexus would come in contact with Beni, asking if he could join the rangers.
Beni was at first going to say no, but knew that perhaps some new tricks could get Kevlar back to what he once was before his accident.
This, sadly, didn’t pan out, as Kevlar and Royce would eventually take their aggression out on each other.
While holding back an enraged Royce with the help of the other rangers, Kevlar said one thing to Beni that stuck with him.
“Why are you always holding back, Beni?!”
Again, those words, and how Beni felt when he killed Toya Hanma.
Beni couldn’t help but feel like maybe he was holding something back, deep down, that he didn’t want to acknowledge.
He’d seek guidance from Shoto, now running the Hanma Zaibatsu in a legal stance now.
Beni told Shoto how he was feeling, and Shoto couldn’t help but feel guilty.
Shoto told Beni, that the Hanma family originated from an assassin guild of Ninja that got everywhere and everything they wanted by killing all that stood in their way.
But Shoto would ease Benimaru, in telling him that he was created to be a “Sword of Justice” and that maybe, it was time for Benimaru to start “attacking more and defending less”
Beni would ponder what this mean throughout the next couple of years in off planet missions with the Polymorphic Rangers.
Eventually, the Polymorphic Rangers would succeed in the wiping out many of the Cyber Syndicate bases.
Thus, they in a sense would be relieved of their duty, as Royce would officially disband the Polymorphic Rangers.
Without the rangers around, Benimaru had figured an excellent way to implement what Shoto Hanma said.
Benimaru would create his own group of Ninja, but unlike the Hanma assassins, they’d be used to protect and serve.
The Red Scarves would be formed and Benimaru would train a handful of students for the next year.
This small group would do their own vigilante like justice, and took down other crime groups and those who have connections to the Cyber Syndicate.
The group would grow massively in size after a year, as the Red Scarves would operate inside the old Hanma Estate, now reinforced and completely redesigned inside and out.
Royce and Beni would reconnect after a year of being on their own, and asked Beni if he’d be interested in training Silica Nexus.
In truth, Beni had been monitoring Silica’s activity, and was beyond impressed with what she was capable of.
It had been a long time since Beni had someone to spar with that could not only keep up with him, but hopefully in Beni’s eyes, surpass him one day.
While he is dishing out justice in his own way, Benimaru and his Red Scarves will do whatever it takes to keep Devol City safe from harm.
Personality:
Being 2nd in command, Benimaru’s cool and calmness is the thing that help balances out the more colorful personalities of his teammates.
Beni tends to take his missions seriously with a large sense of stoicism.
He has an incredible eye for detail, and picks up everything that he notices to an almost compulsive level.
While this can be annoying to the other rangers, it is Benimaru 9 times out of 10 that will always find glaring weaknesses in the foes they would fight.
This carried over incredibly well for Benimaru being a teacher, as his insane nitpicking with his students allows them to learn about mistakes faster and improve even faster.
While in battle, though, a colder side of Benimaru takes hold of him.
Almost like a killer instinct, Benimaru is able to take out and dispatch his foes with frightening accuracy.
This makes many of the lesser criminals tend to surrender in order not to deal with Benimaru in general.
But, when he isn’t training or fighting, Beni can be found relaxing in the Bonsai Garden he made in the back of the Hanma Estate.
Also, while a secret to the rest of the Red Scarves, Beni also spends most of his free time with his favorite student, Silica Nexus.
While Beni will play it off as just giving her private lessons, he can only wonder how long it’ll be until someone finds out they are more than just hanging out.
Weapon:
Raijin-Geki.
Benimaru’s Katana is tied directly into his Voltara Spark Core.
His core being partially Dragoon tech, Raijin-Geki had to be engineered in order to handle the sheer power that rages through Benimaru at all times.
He can control the length and power output at will.
He tends to keep the sword at Odachi length when he is fighting.
While absurdly long, Raijin-Geki’s super lightweight allows him to swing it as fast as he does.
With this length, he is able to cut multiple of foes down left and right.
Not to mention, Beni has mastered the ability to Phase, allowing him to bounce between his foes like a mighty bolt of lightning.
The afterimages that are left over can also attack by following Beni’s exact movements, or go off on their own in order to hit other targets.
Also, when fighting ranged opponents, Beni can shoot lightning from his hands.
His favorite method, however, is to shape the lightning into multiple floating kunai, and fire then all at once.
The only small downside to Benimaru’s skill is that if he uses his electricity too much, he can cause himself to set off small static discharges that can fry lower tech devices.
