The city crumbled behind him, as if his equipment - supplies looted from the city - had been holding the place together. With plenty of water and some bread in tow, he stood more chance than most as his journey took him deeper into the vast nothingness of the desert.

Unlike my other drawings, I used blurs to blend shading. Fun fact: I used 4 different colors of sand: two for the dunes, the third is the 'fog' in the sky, and the fourth is a transparent texture seen on the main character's clothes and on the horizon.

I saw the teaser trailer for Journey, a game by thatgamecompany. I'm a huge fan of thatgamecompany, so I decided to do some fanart. As I was drawing, I noted that the main character was very feminine-looking. Not that I'm against female main characters, I decided to try and create a male character design that looked distinctly different, but still had the same style and posture.

Features to note:

- Headpiece is thinner and taller (just 'cause exaggerated proportions is fun!)
- Head has a pointed chin and a lower and thinner brow
- Dress/skirt replaced with pants made with the same fabric, knee is more visible
- Gold trim extended into a chestpiece and belt
- Cape hides arm, assassin's creed style

Made in about 5 hours with photoshop.
