So, book one gave me five ideas and I drew three of them, but then book two only gave me two ideas and I drew neither. One was just a commentary on how higher stakes aren't always better. So some time later I decided to just give him the 'actually trying to draw a good picture' treatment.

I don't know if anything shoots purple energy, I can't remember everything and I'm not trawling the entire bestiary for Atomic Age of Monsters to find out, I just needed something to stand out against the blue sky and Tyrantis' own fire blast.

There’s also definitely some of my own monster design elements sneaking into this and it’s a bit off model, but personally I think that’s what makes fan art fun.
