I think what many people dont seem to get is that The Grinch special that was handled by Chuck Jones is a magnum opus to animation. It had everything that one could ask for, and it was focused on both audiences. The live-action grinch tries too hard with raunchy humor, while the recent film of the grinch tries too hard to keep it focused just for kids.
The 'before' Grinch is the grinch we all know. Wrinkles, crooked yellow teeth,, and red eyes of anger and disgust over the holidays. The 'after', isn't even a grinch at all. Its just someone who got through a politically correct machine and is what is 'acceptable' for today's mainstream audience without even having to look at the source material to understand what exactly made the story good. You did a good job on this.
