Discworld Arcade Game Mockup

Share

A hypothetical arcade game from 1992 that covers "The Colour of Magic" (1983), "The Light Fantastic" (1986) and "Sourcery" (1988), a trio of mostly-fantasy books featuring the inept wizard Rincewind and his adopted trunk on legs, the Luggage. The artstyle here blatantly steals from another early-90's arcade game by Konami, "Asterix".

My dad and I are huge fans of the Discworld series - my dad's collection in particular is around thirty-or-so books in size along with DVDs of the animated adaptations, the live-action Colour of Magic film, etc. The City Watch subseries alone would have enough material for an entire "Shadows Over Mystara"-inspired mockup.

As a fan of both Discworld and old style beat 'em up's, Why aren't we funding this?

As another huge fan, this is just incredible. I can practically imagine Twoflower bumbling in, taking pictures and making a nuisance of himself. You did killer work here, to the point where I'm a little sad I'll never get to play this 'game' for myself...

The effort you have put into this just SHINES. The colors, expressions, just everything here shines. You should be proud of this piece! Love it!

Nice! I was recommended the Color of Magic about a month ago. I haven't seen too much Discworld at on NG, so it's great to see this.

Ah, i see you're a man of culture as well!
