As for this character specificlly, its all up to Daemon as its their character!

But as for what the characters power and job is I can answer! This serves as a great excuse to dump some info that like 2 people might care about.

"Merchants" as they are called, were originally rare powerhouse military units for the kingdom known as "The Faithfuls”. They only served the King and Queen. However at some point the monarchies fell , the practices of these few units however were passed down the generations and became mercenaries for hire, specifically for Traders , Caravans ect.  When the monarchies fell, so did law and order. Skochi Bandits were everywhere, the dangerous wildlife no longer were being culled by the monarchies divisions and public protected roads no longer existed. After some more years, these mercenaries' numbers dwindled and eventually started traveling by themselves and started selling goods between villages. thus getting the name "Merchants". Even after all that time, some traditions like their foldable weapons, Bronze trimmed steel and the black bodysuits stuck.

As for their power. Merchants use a type of magic called "Faith". Anything with a soul can use Faith magic but it must be learned and very little knowledge on it is written down. Almost all Faith users were taught from another user, the only exception is some beasts that have the instincts to use it. Faith magic is sourced from the users soul and becomes exaggerated by their own pain. Faith magic specifically manipulates the user's soul and the souls of others. Faith can be built up in the user and then expelled for several types of effects. Its biggest notable ability is to conjure external tangible muscles that can be controlled just like any other body part. Another ability is to move the user's own soul, the body of the user will always try to keep up with their soul, allowing Merchants to throw their own souls meters away in any direction. The soul and body will then slingshot back to together meeting at the middle, souls however don't weigh anything so the body wont collide with anything and will keep its momentum. This effect is often mistaken for immense strength and speed. But it's really just fancy ballistics. Faith can also be used along with power words and symbols and consumed like typical mana , however faith magic is not proficient in this fashion and relies on expertly crafted Tomes and Scroll. Merchants can also damage opponents directly by damaging their souls as well, a dead soul is a dead person. As for the reason why most Merchants are missing body parts , there are a couple. Immense physical pains permanently extend the users faith pool, combined with the fact that that same faith pool can then be used to make temporary body parts of greater value, Merchants tend to not mind losing limbs and some actually intentionally amputate themselves. One more notable ability of faith is the manipulation of time. This manipulation however can only affect the user and nothing else. It also doesn't use faith and instead the user's flesh. This is the other reason why many Merchants are missing body parts and is only reserved for dodging deadly consequences.

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk
