They're more-or-less ventilation. It makes little sense on the right cup, in hindsight, seeing as the heart's on the left side of the body.

Also, I never color artwork of this style. I leave it simply inked to give it a 'rough draft' or 'blueprint' feel. Plus, I love how the details in it oft let your eyes roll around the picture, keeping you busy.

I didn't give up. I worked on it through the last weeks of school, then forgot about it until recently.
