Stop being too hard on yourself, he's great.
My only suggestion, is maybe a darker outline around him - like a shadow perhaps, to set him apart from the background (both are reddish tints) and maybe a key light source reflecting on the right side of him (not necessary, just personal preference). Other than that, he gives off an atmosphere on his own! Good job!

So I revised my demon guy, gave him a background... there was a reason for his mouth being a cage, I was going to make it look like a furnace or something, but I forgot to.... so until next time this is what it is. If anyone wants to take him, improve on him, mess with him, give him tits and makeup, whatever feel free he's for everyone now because he isn't that great.
