Part Two: On Duty

Infiltration, hacking, and stealth; these were the abilities I was given. In those years I had my sense of purpose, I knew what I was made for and I could be the best among others like me. Happiness, fulfillment, finding oneself these were unheard of luxuries during the war. One's entire life was dedicated to the fight, defend your side and do what you were told was right. What was once a complex, multifaceted depute among two equally powerful factions was now a race against time for resources and energy. A civil war. With the only foreseeable victor being whomever outlasted the other. Energon was an invaluable resource, whomever held the most had the upper hand, and for a time... I enjoyed that life, going on missions with my team and my partner by my side, a clear sense of who was right, who was wrong... it was... simpler back then.

Little illustration showing a bit of the shenanigans that went on during Highwire 's time as a solder for the Autobots. saki-noir was kind enough to lend me her angry child Sylph as a part of this piece. Please go give her some love. I promise I'll do something more dignified artwork with Sylph in the future.
