In 2022, Capcom finally told all of us that they will finally be making a remake for Resident Evil 4 (pretty much one of the best RE game in the franchise) 

and now we finally have RE4 remake in 2023 released a few weeks ago (aka March 24th)

I got it the day after it was released, and I have only just recently finished it on the 6th of April, I could of gotten it done sooner but I've been dealing with stuff so yeah.

But otherrall I can happily say that this remake was awesome! and Im already on my 2nd run (New Game Plus) but before I talk about this time, I better do what I always do... talk about the plot of the game

(Game's Plot)

RE4 takes place 6 years after the events of RE2, and now Leon S Kennedy is on a mission to rescue the US President kidnapped daughter "Ashley Graham" from a crazy cult known as the "Los Iluminados"

On Leon's journey, he will encounter new faces, old faces, crazy village people, chainsaw man, mutant dogs, cultists, experimental monsters, and a merchant that somehow everywhere at once... don't question it lol

Anyway, will Leon overcome the dangers ahead and bring Ashley home safely? 

This time Survival is JUST the beginning.

Now that you all know the plot of the game... lets talk about the game lol

for right now, I will talk about the gameplay and what I enjoyed in it and then I will talk about what I thought with the story, however that part of the description will contain some spoilers so beware.

(Gameplay)

Seeing as this is the 3rd Resident Evil remake game after RE2 remake and RE3 remake, this game will of course share some similar things such as the same camera perspective, free of movement when aiming, ect.

However of course RE4 remake still contains the same gameplay mechanics from the original RE4, it being a mix between survival horror and action, enemies will always drop items either being money, gunpowder, ammo, ect.

Some animals can be killed and either sold or used as small healing items, the brief case inventory, crafting is back, and of course we have The Merchant! 

Whenever you see the Merchant, you are in the save space from all the madness going on, you can buy stuff from him such as weapons, tune up your weapons or fix your knife if it breaks, you can sell him treasure to earn money, and sometimes you can find some "special treasure" to sell him

(what I mean by special treasure, is that some treasures can be combined with gemstones to increase their value. For example, say you found a king crown that can give you like maybe $1000 when you sell it, however the crown has 4 gem slots, so if you put 2 square gem stones and 2 round gem stones into the crown, it can now give you $1600 when you sell it)

This remake has also added in some new stuff as well, such as using stealth, parrying with your knife (parrying will slowly damage your knife and you will need to repair it whenever you see the merchant, however later on in the game, you can also collect some other knifes that you can use incase your normal knife breaks)

and there are some request missions that you can do for the Merchant to earn some rare gems that you can trade him for some other stuff like treasure maps, gun powder, gun attachments, ect. 

the gameplay with Ashley has also changed up abit which makes it abit easy but not too easy. Ashley no longer has a health bar so you no longer have to waist your healing items on her... however that doesn't mean that she's untouchable, because she can still get captured by enemies and you will need to save her, sometimes she will get damaged and will be on her kneels while waiting for you to help her up, however while on her knees if she gets hit again then she will get killed... and sometimes you can accidentally kill her if your not careful.

So in my opinion, I thought the gameplay was great and honestly I'm glad that Capcom made some of these new changes to the gameplay, as my small problem with the original was the fact that you couldn't move around while aiming, your pretty much stuck when your aiming (meaning you have to stand still while aiming) and in my opinion that was a bit of a pain in my ass, and I'm glad that they removed the health bar for Ashley so I don't have t waist my healing items on her, however I will admit that sometimes its hard to focus on keeping her save while focusing on the enemies

however Ashley also has some commands to either stay close to you or give you some space while your dealing with enemies so thats good, and there are some points where you can command Ashley to hide in a locker while you deal with some REAL dangerous enemies. (also she's not super annoying like she was in the original too lol)

Overall, I though the gameplay was great and I do hope u guys will like it too, if you decide to get the game.

yes, since this is a remake, of course there were a few content from the original... however based on what I've noticed is there are only like some lil parts that were cut out, but all the other stuff from the original are still in the remake just in different locations or different times in the game

you can still save the dog from the bare trap, however you don't find the dog at the beginning of the game, you find him later on in the story

you can still sit on Ramon's throne and even do the iconic pose thing

that cutscene where Leon and Krasure first meet and fight, thats now a boss fight which is pretty cool

now the stuff that only I could noticed that was cut from the original game, were the part where you gotta shoot the driver of the truck thats about to run you over, the room with the spike ceiling, some old lines from the original game were cut but some old lines are in the remake such as "Wheres everyone going? Bingo?" and so on

and also the U3 boss fight was cut (however I hear that the U3 boss fight will be in the Separate Ways DLC)

there are some new stuff in the remake, but I don't want spoil the fun

(my overall XP with the game)

So for my first playthrough, I played the game on standard, I managed to finish the game with a B rank due to my total playtime being around 24 hours in total since I was taking my time on where to go, where to find all the treasure on the maps, doing all the requests for The Merchant, taking my times trying to solve some of the puzzles, and of course dying... alot ^^;

However right now, like I said before, I'm on my 2nd playthrough and so far I have manage to get to chapter 10 within 3 hours (the game has a total of 16 chapters) so Im hoping that maybe I can get an A rank or higher along with getting the sprinter trophy (the Sprinter trophy wants you to finish the game under 8 hours)

and then I'll maybe do another playthrough but on hardcore mode and so on.

I overall, liked the game, I enjoyed the story, there were parts that made me chuckle, some parts that made me jump, and ect

I look forward to what Capcom has in store for this game as we already have the Mercenaries DLC and we will also be getting the Separate Ways DLC as well (hopefully)

Now lets talk about the drawing

like I said before it took me like almost 4 days to do, and of course I think I did a good job

In the drawing we have pretty much all the characters that I thought were pretty important in the game

So we have my OC wife Ashlee Toons taking the role of Ashley Graham, (reason why is because their both named Ashley just spelled differently lol) Luis Serra, Ada Wong, Major Krasure, The Merchant, in the background I also added in the Village Chief aka Bitores Mendez aka the BIG guy with the fake eye and possibly beard louse, Ramon Salazar while his "LEFT HAND" is giving him a piggyback ride since he's so short lol (out of all the characters that I drew in this drawing, I think I laughed the most when drawing Ramon as I for some unknown reason couldn't resist but give him a shit grin on his face and I feel like I made him so creepy that it laughed my ass off XDDD) 

The mastermind behind all of this crazy stuff Osmund Saddler, and lastly we have ME in the center

For this drawing, I kinda wanted this drawing to look slightly similar to the drawing that I did for my RE8 drawing, with me being in the center of all the madness and being the victim in a way while being surrounded by pretty much all the danger

I also kinda wanted this drawing to kinda reflex of how far I've gotten since then, in that drawing... I was afraid, and now in this drawing I'm not afraid anymore and show no fear... or maybe I'm looking too much into this lol

Anyway, thats pretty much all I have to say about the drawing and I do hope u all like it too

In the end, I recommend that you all go try out the RE4 remake, its available on pretty much all consoles (except for Nintendo Switch) and PC

I give the game a 10 and I do hope u all have a great day ^^

(Oh! I almost forgot, due to this drawing taking me long to do along with staying up all night to do this drawing all the way to like 5AM, and due to other stuff, I'm thinking about maybe taking a lil break from both DA and Newgrounds after I post this drawing.

I kinda wanna get back into my video games since I still wanna keep playing RE4 remake and maybe go back to RE8 and God of war Ragnarok go t anew update that has my attention, along with focusing on work, and maybe spend time with family- tho that might not happen since I don't talk to my family that much but still lol

however I will of course reply to any comments that you decided to leave and I will of course do some simply doodles here and there. I'm not going away so don't worry lol
