In times of strife, one must look towards the bright side. In my case, I've managed to find a book that's not completely waterlogged, and a variety of writing utensils. If I weren't able to record my thoughts and observations on this island, I may very well go mad.

This place is all kinds of peculiar, the stone formations are nothing like I've ever seen, and the trees contort in ways almost akin to reaching hands. The strangest thing I've seen thus far are the number of beached jellyfish strewn along the shore, all looking eerily similar to people...

...Mayhaps I am going mad already.

I am a learned man, I have read books on various aquatic phenomena, and this is like nothing I've ever heard of before.
