A piece in my 2D Design portfolio.
My concentration is The Dark Lives of People.
This is on the subject of suicide.

Suicide jokes are the best jokes. Great job.

seems pretty happy

He seems to be enlightened.

No seriously,

This was masterfully done in every aspect. One of the oddest things that strikes me in this is the contrast between the man's clothes and the enviornment he's in. I suppose its another way of showing how ya can't tell the whole story just by looking at the person. Very well done.

Having been suicidal myself this image means a lot to me emotionally.
I remember being on the brink of taking my own life trying to make some happiness out of my despair, essentially barricading myself in my room so I wouldn't be disturbed.
The glowing and happy nature of the man's expression and position on the chair which is about to tip over seems almost natural. 'At last I will be free from what's making me sad!' is the sentence that comes to mind.
I especially love how he is very colorful against the dreary background.

The fact that he wouldn't choke on the rope even standing on the ground (based on his height) gives the viewer a sort of hopeful vibe that maybe he'll come to his senses and realize that all of his problems are fixable.

I get a lot out of this for some reason.

The contrast between his expression and the environment... I love this! It's so dark in nature, in color, and story. Everything except the focus of this piece, our happy hero, is sad, and he is neatly, and seemingly perfectly about to end his life. Why would you end your life in this way? It makes me think!

He dances into the noose. I love this picture.
I bet you just made it for fun to and have little meaning or intention behind it.

But still, I love to look at this and scrutinize it.
