When looking for jackets I can do up at op-shops, I find some really awesome ones! Like this one, which is an old NZ Defence Force jacket! I absolutely had to buy it!
I wanted a design that felt very punk, to create a cool contrast with the original jacket and it's meaning. I decided to create a massive, hand-painted, patch out of old jeans. Bringing a burst of colour with a pink explosion in the background, bringing it all together. It took me a couple of hours to hand stitch the patch on. The inside of the jacket is lovely, and I didn't want my stitching to disrupt it, so I had to make sure I'as only securing it to the outer layer of fabric!
The previous owner writ his name on the tag, which I absolutely love!
There were 4 of these jackets at the op-shop, and I brought 2, planning to do one up for myself as well! They're just so cool!
