Daemon vs. Psyker
The psyker is actually a rpg-character of Wh40k and in a story I am writing.

The picture is not modified with photoshop or the likes, it is just my handwork.

Well, I'm bored and stumbled over your art

This picture has some great structure, and a nice choice of coulours. I don't know why it is that low scoring, probably people are so stuffed with photoshop-remastered stuff, they don't appreciate that this is actually good in concept, and well made in it's own right.

It certainly isn't perfect, I don't know your characters, and I'm also only marginally familiar through some LARP friends with warhammer, and warhammer 40k I never really got into at all, so I don't just know nothing about these characters in particular, but also overall I couldn't really guess their race, backgrounds, or anything - just saying so that it is clear I might make some assumptions that aren't necessarily true.

The proportions on the right fellow's face... Psyker? seem a bit odd, his face seems too small to me - especially when compared to... Daemon? I guess. Also, I am really not too sure if he is desperate and devestated (losing the fight) or just struggling in an even match. The expression on his face seems a bit ambigious to me.

That being said - there is some hidden greatness here. The details in Daemon's? colouring, the different shades of brown and red, the convincingly menacing pose, and the work that was put into the way their hair flows. The shading is also not half bad, and as I said: The composition of shapes and colours makes this interesting to look at.

One thing that would really make this picture better is something to fill the background, like extending the "energy" between their hands into it, as rays or something like that.

So, while this is no full grown masterpiece, it is showing great potential and thought in how to arrange two characters in a battle like that.

Shati responds:

Yeah, you guessed right. Daemons' left and Psyker's right. I also always thought that the look on the psyker's face looks not like it should - really pissed off and saying: "I am going to smash you into pieces."
This picture also lost a lot through my crappy scanner.
Thank you for your very constructive and explaining review!

its ok

itsok, needs some better shading wouldnt hurt to be darker, and some more contrast, and just work overall, but its ok imunna give it a six for effort

Shati responds:

Ah, I think the shading does not come out right because of my quite crappy scanner. In real life it looks better shaded then it does here. But thank you for all of your reviews - if I got time besides my studies, I will do an overwork of all the pictures.

Very Nice

Good Handywork, very nice shading, good expressions!
Keep it up!
