Black sharpie on printer paper. I sketched out the girl with pencil first. The rest is freehand.

Abstract, but innovative.

If I ever tried to get something like this done, I'd have such a problem getting it all to come together. I wouldn't know where to start, like would I work on the girl, or where she was standing first?

The abstract nature of the flowers compliments the girl well and the crescent moon of an umbrella is a nice addition and it shows that you've got great awareness when it comes to shapes and that you're not afraid to push boundaries, because it wouldn't fit in a conventional sense.

The girl's head looks to be inclined a little too far for my liking and I'm not entirely sure where she is looking - to regard the flower that she is nearly caressing, she would have to look through the top of her skull - sorry, but physics gets in the way there ;)

The fact that the umbrella's cane isn't straight was the only other niggle I could have with this piece - you've done some stellar work and I look forward to seeing more pieces.

Unlike the other pieces that I've done, this one I had a definite Idea what I wanted. Instead of "winging" the girl I sketched her out first. (She's actually looking at the ground) Even though I tried not to make her too exaggerated there were some features that I still end up doing unintentionally. (Big hands, no eyes...) I also messed up the umbrella by having one side smooth curved (the moon) and the inside bubble curved. I really appreciate the review! It's wonderful to get feedback!

<3 it.

I really like your style. It reminds me of the 80's, with the tons of exaggeration and the boldness.

If you ever get the chance to color, I would strongly suggest it. They would make your drawings great, and would make them even more bold! I could see pastel working well, or anything that would pop out nicely.

Coloring is something that I've been working on a lot lately. It's tough trying to figure out! I get the drawing stage done and then I get super picky on what I want to do about coloring it in!

Creative

Well this turned out to be a nice and creative piece anyways. Like how the umbrella somewhat doubles up as the moon as well with a smile. Maybe it is just a design on it. Then she is stepping the puddle or stomping in it to make the water bounce really high and give a nice scenery effect to it.

The drawing is nice and I liked the detailings you put with it.

Overall, nice piece of work.

Excellent!

I like the way the girl in the middle is drawn and she looks pretty good.
The Umbrella makes me think of the moon and I like the way that looks too.
The flowers and everything coming up all around her were pretty cool and I liked the "raindrop" that she was catching, I think this is a really cool painting!

One small thing, I think her nose looks just a tad on the long side, like the penguin from batman or something, I don't know if you wanted it to be like that or not, but I think it would look a little better if it was just a tad smaller. . .

Overall this is one of my favorites of yours!

Thank you again! This one to me has the most "complete" feel to it story wise. I knew where I was going with it and it's apparent in the picture.
