Fantastic Realms Art Book Entry for Calgary Expo 2019

Share

I submitted my first (hopefully published) art book entry! Here it is!

The book debuting at Calgary Expo 2019 is going to be packed full of all-original art, and the theme / title is "Fantastic Realms". The proceeds for the 20$ hardcover book go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research!

The pose and overall design was heavily referenced from the classic pinup art of Freeman Elliott, so I can't take much credit for that, but the little twists are my own. I wanted to change the original pinup artist girl into a witch and the siamese cat into a very tolerant owl familiar. lol

The choice of burrowing owl was just because it's an endangered bird in Canada and I really want to start drawing more kinds of birds, rather than just crows.

Hope you like it! I'm really excited to see if it gets chosen for the book. :)

I'll find out on April 25th!

That owl's like: You will pay dearly for this. Super cute.

Dude, I love the bow on the owl.

It just works so well with the emotion of the scene.

In diggin the colors amd the face expressions. I really like the design on the table cloth and how with both being dark colors the design still sticks out well. Good job.

bery grumpy! i adore

Oh god, that's lovely. Love the owl's face :)
