I'm not going to lie; this is currently my favorite piece on Newgrounds.com.
The masks in the background are what make this piece so perfect; I love how you captured each and every one of them in a creative way, bringing highlights to some of the portions of the game that I haven't even thought about in years.
As far as my qualms could go with this piece, I'll lay them out, but don't take them too critically; you did this in a hurry.
1. Placement of masks. With the circle being covered up by the centerpiece, Oni-Link, I would have placed the Deku, Zora, and Goron masks at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock to draw them into highlights. They are the most used masks in the game so I would think you would have showcased them a little more.
2. The coloration (the light grey) on the chest piece around the triangle and moon shapes is a little too blotchy; it could have been angled up a little better to fit the sharper edged used in the bosses and centerpiece.
Apart from those, I adore every single aspect of this piece. The bosses are executed excellently and the masks and Link's design contrast very well in a Light VS Darkness kind of way when set against them.
Thank you so much for this, it was a true pleasure to look over, awe over, and to scrutinize. :P
its a fantastic piece of artwork you've got here
i only have two minor complains. You could have done the Fierce Deity with a darker appeal like how you did with the bosses. The original artwork for Majora's Mask is pretty dark and it would be nice if all MM's fan work had that style in my opinion. Also the Fierce Deity has completely white eyes, at least in the game so i think keeping that would have been better.
overall. Its a remarkable fan art for my favorite game.
This ensemble is very appealing!
Is there any way to achieve a 'stained-glass' look?
Not that it's needed but curious as to the alternative.
That or what if "Oni-Link" was ghost-like? That way you can see Majora's Mask. Like what if the body was transparent but the face was not, emphasizing that he's just a mask physically?
That's pretty damn badass. The original Fierce Diety was easily just a recolor of the original Link; here you barely recognize him at all. Excellent piece overall.
