Here's a much more recent picture I did about two years ago.

My scanner is hot garbage but I did the best I could and tried to fix this up as best I could.

This is an original character of mine. Her name is Jaiya. She's part of a story I was writing in my adolescence. It was a sci-fi fantasy, action, adventure, psychological, mystery with many nods to fairytale tropes. In any event Jaiya is a humanoid-alien with butterfly wings. She's the head priestess at the temple on her home planet where the just one of the mysteries take place.

In this picture she's in a wetland wandering around when she notices someone and askes with honest curiosity: "Can I help you?" The reason she has a sword and a jewel in her hands...well, I'll leave that up to you.

I originally drew this using pen, copic markers and watercolor markers for the background.

In Spite of my scanner, I'm very pleased with how this turned out though I would like a way better one.

oh wow this is cool!
I really like the character desing and the traditional coloring it's awesome!
I must admit, the anatomy needs a bit of work on the part of the hips and torso, and legs, but overall it's very pretty, the wings are gorgeous!

I can imagine this. Jaiya is going to trade the Jewel to negotiate the release of her Sister, Preiya. The sword is to fetch the head of the man that kidnapped her, but that's her secret!

RubystarSage responds:

Not exactly but it is an interesting idea for an AU.

I sort of like it. And thanks for your response.
