Oil on canvas, 2008

A piece based on a picture of my grandparent's old house in Hong Kong, albeit with several liberties (namely the colorscheme) taken. The name is the cantonese (Hong Kong Chinese) transliteration of the Chinese on the building - Lok Yuen - the Joyous Garden. Hope you enjoy.

Your grandparents must have been a bit wealthy.

A nice house like this would be very expensive even off the island and even many years back. Anyways you seem to be able to put a definite mood on your pieces. I'm not sure if you intended that, maybe you are doing it unconsciously. Regardless, I pick it up rather intensely in quite a few of your paintings. All of your work is really amazing and makes use of vibrant colors without seeming gaudy at all. I really really wish you would do more portraits since you seem to have a real talent for mood.

Honestly: I really love your artwork. Wished, I got the same talent like you. Keep up the good work.
