This reminds me of this story I heard in Greek Mythology. There was this chick named Persephone, whose husband Hades, had been shot by Eros, causing him to fall madly in love with Persephone. Her mother was Demeter, who was the goddess of harvest and farming. She did not approve of Persephone's husband Hades, and went mad, causing a cold storm to form, and crops dying off, with nothing growing back in its place. Persephone decided to go back to Demeter, but ate a magic pomegranate before she left. For each seed she ate, she would stay with Hades each year. She ate four before leaving. Those four months make Demeter to go mad, bringing winter back. It just reminds me of that story.
