Trying to find you

Just studying art and the use of colors.. I guess my previous art has all one thing in common: No dynamic coloring. So I'm trying to fix that, and this is my first attempt.

This is however an original image and stuff, I didn't paint a picture someone already has, I just studied how they used their colors and applied it to my own painting.

Gotta say there's a huge difference, I'm gonna try to do this with all my future works..

But yeah.. This took about 2 hours of work in photoshop. Enjoy.

Reminds me of a part in the game Never ending Nightmares.

Ah, it's sad I haven't heard of that game.

poor guy. epic painting though!

Yikes!

He's.....reaching into his own flesh! :S
Aww, I personally really like your darker ones. I was looking through the art portal and normally, I can imediately recognize your art because of your usual style, but I couldn't recognize this and the other one (one of a woman's face) because of this apparent difference. But hey, you're the artist, I'm just a viewer. Good to see that you're trying different things :) It's pretty good for a first attempt and without a reference.
While I do hope that you won't lose touch with your darker style, I'm also looking forward to seeing how far you can improve with this one!

Rhunyc responds:

Oofda thank you for the nice review! And yeah, I'm only doing this as practice to improve my art and style, to make it more realistic and generally better looking and hopefully with more substance. Right now I don't feel like my art is at the level I'm reaching for, so hopefully by learning new techniques and ways of doing things I can get there! :)
