It's for my yet to be named snow world. I've decided to go my own route with it, and so I'm starting to conceptualize all the stuff thats going to be inside the universe. So that way I have references and shit to look at so I can keep things consistent.

And here's the first Small Mechanized Walker (or SMW)

If you haven't noticed or aren't a fan of ukitakumuki's work (over at deviantart), I highly suggest you take a look at his art. The mech's and stuff he comes up with and designs are just amazing. But yeah, I used his concept designs as a reference for mine: http://ukitakumuki.devian i

So the layout is really similar to his.

Anyways, hopefully you like it, and hopefully I'll make more lols. :3

Since this is concept art, I'll attack the concept. Why leave fuel tanks and fuel lines fully exposed to hazards like the environment or enemy bullets? If it's an ice planet, it'd make sense to have large feet and snow spikes.

id like to see these used one day

yknow with the amount of military tech i look at made by the artists.
Id say would be very effective in times of WAR.
im suprised the goverments of of earth dont look at this website for ideas on what to build next.

Rhunyc responds:

Mighty thanks for that, and I'm sure they're aware of such designs.. I remember reading or hearing or seeing (idk, lols bad memory) somewhere where they said that mech's are just plain inefficient compared to that of a tank or something. I guess the money it would cost to create them (let alone make them work as you would imagine them to) would just not be worth it.. I mean, tanks are cheaper and essentially do the same amount of damage and are more mobile..

But then again, I'm no military man, this is just from what I gathered here and there, just various bits of knowledge put together... So maybe they can be used some day? But it looks doubtful. :(

'Goliath online!'

The drawing is good quality and shows a lot of imagination for the structure of the mech. It unfortunately suffers, in my mind, for looking a *lot* like the Goliath from Starcraft with the guns. I doubt that's worth a redesign, and since this is part of a larger world, it's perfectly acceptable to have similar elements. Nice work, looking forward to more.

Rhunyc responds:

Thanks, actually I had no clue it was anywhere near the resemblance of a Goliath. I believe the Goliath is much larger - with an enclosed pilot. I've played Starcraft 2 to see the Goliath in action once (I played zerg), so I didn't get a good glimpse of them, basically right now I'm relying mainly on my memory of them from the original Starcraft.

I've seen many many mechanized walker designs.. So there's probably a lot of minor influences I've used from different games and series.

But thanks for the kind review, and I appreciate you taking the time to let me know what you think.
