"Oh brave and blue, from far away, the lords of Prima came.
They fought and died and oh, they tried, but Helzig they'd not tame.
Those Lords of Prima turned tail and fled, but we saw where they had gone.
They thought it safe, they thought it well, to the lands the had withdrawn.
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, so turned that ancient wheel,
Look around and tell me now, who do you see kneel?"
~Helreign Marching Song
During the Second Helzig War, the Helreign defeated their Primean opponents by overwhelming numbers and unrelenting ferocity. Though the Primean Guard had great expertise in war, they were unprepared for the size and flexibility of their enemies. The Kingdom of Prima had spent years monitoring and negating conflicts before they could start but these strategies were ineffective in a full-scale war.
On top of that, the Helreign were often able to exploit flaws in the Primean tradition of combat, like refusing to meet them on their terms (a one-on-one battle, for instance).
Pictured here are two Helreign Warriors signaling to their comrades what they see. While an ambush might be unseemly to the Primeans, it is a favored tactic of the Helreign.
