Man, I love this art style and the overall creative composition of this piece (comic page)!

I really like how you use the color black. Using the black color for all the main shadows, but ignoring (or just coloring black) all of the other shadow groups (not sure if I’m using the right term), this way giving a nice artistic contrast that still is able to convey the scene. Plus, your color choice (palette) is really nice and pleasing to the eye. The rest of the colors aren’t super contrasting as bringing any more contrast would be a bad idea (of course one could say the speech bobble is contrasting, but we all get why it's there and one could argue that it standing out is a good idea, in a way it’s separate from the piece).

Maybe I just miss these kind of comics (like All Roads Fallout New Vegas comic or anything with Mike Mignola art (HellBoy and Screw on Head)), so maybe that's why your art is really appealing to me. Nonetheless, I thought you did a super nice job! Keep it up!

reaganlodge responds:

Hey Ramzus, wow thanks for the really thought out feedback! You're not far off the mark by mentioning Mignola, he's one of my biggest inspirations ever. Anytime I'm stuck on how to fix a certain drawing, I just open a Hellboy book and see how Mignola would've handled it. Sean Gordon Murphy, Claire Wendling, Jeff Smith and Doug TenNapel are some other ink inspirations of mine too.

Thanks again for the super encouraging words!

Looks amazing man, cant weight to see more.
