Faebruary day 5
Wag-By-The-Way
Often the fae are so beautiful and alluring that men will gladly follow them to their doom... and then there is the Wag-By-The-Way... I admit that beyond the name I knew precious little about this fairie beforehand, he seems to be a kind of guardian spirit of the home and of lowland roads in Scotland. A small absurd dwarf sprite, he gets his name from the cat like tail that he uses to Wag at unwelcome guests and travellers, or to show his appreciation to his household. Wag-by-the-way is very cat like himself and loves nothing more than curling up by the fireside, he is very loyal, often to a fault, supposedly hurling objects at visitors who do not mind their manners in his house. Sadly it is thought that because people move away from their family home so often now that the Wag is disappearing, as he cannot keep up with the pace of modern life.
