Faebruary day 8
Piskies
The piskie or pixie was once an exclusively Cornish fae creature and rival of other faerie clans, but modern literature has spread them world wide.
The Piskie is traditionally a small mischievous ‘ill clothed’ or naked character who loves to play games, sing and dance, some older traditions have piskies human sized, this size disparity is a common feature of all the oldest elfin and fairie legends and all play into the notions of a ‘hidden people’ or even wilder theory's about a lost pre-human civilisations. But perhaps in the fairie realm size is simply something you wear, not something you are.
Though Piskies are begin creatures they can still cause humans a lot of trouble, if you get roped into one of their games you will often be led astray.
Sadly it was being said as early as the 19th century that the Pixies and their revelries where disappearing, their sweet music rarely heard in the places they once visited, maybe we can coax them back one day.
