I decided that all of my foundations were... well, nonexistant, and that I had a lot of room to make corrections before they became bad habits. So I'm starting from scratch on all of my drawing basics, which means back to basic studies, which means painting and drawing lots of the same thing over and over and over. So I painted a skull head-on, which I'll probably paint again and again over the next few hours. This helped me understand values a lot, and if I keep painting these from different angles repeatedly, it'll help a lot with drawing form and understanding facial structure and proportions.

Final summation: Skulls are stupid.

My apologies for the lazy BG and shadow, but it was originally on a blank white canvas. I figured that it should at least have something filling the white space. Maybe I was wrong, hard to say.
