what Job dose Nene's mom have?
Happy Mother's Day! I decided to draw my interpretation of what Nene's mom looks like (featuring Nene herself here, of course). In case you aren't aware, in Nene's Interactive, Nene is actually referenced to having a mom, who mishears her spraying paint on the walls of her room (even though it's actually Nene's blood spraying out from her wrists). We don't know what she looks like, so I decided to give her a design, as well as a name.
For her design, I took notes from Cream the Rabbit and her mother, Vanilla, from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Basically, Vanilla looks like Cream but older, except she has different clothing. So I figured Nene's mom could just look like an older Nene but with a different attire (at least to keep it more simple).
As for her name, I based it on The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, where the name of the moon princess there is Kaguya. The reason for this is because Nene is actually named after Nene Romanova, a character from the 1987 anime Bubblegum Crisis. And also, because Nene is of Asian descent, I took notes for her mother's name from an old Japanese fairy tale.
I actually have sort of a backstory in mind for Kaguya here; basically, she and her husband married when she was 15 and he was a few years older (presumably to start their own life together, but the real reason remains unclear), and they had Nene sometime afterwards. However, after Nene was born, Kaguya was sick for a while due to complications. She eventually recovered, but Nene couldn't exactly forgive herself for (apparently) getting her own mother sick because of it. Kaguya assures her otherwise, though, since Nene was a newborn and couldn't have possibly wanted her to get hurt. Nene loves her mother and would hate for something bad to happen to her, mainly because of that.
So what are your thoughts? I'd like to hear them.
