This is my entry to the beginner category for Jazza's January 2017 monthly challenge. And since you wanted a story for your Axe I wrote one to go along with my painting, enjoy.

This is the tale of a very special weapon, forged long ago in a land that was lost by time. Formed so two friends could reunite once more….

Our friends Domani and Tobias were the best of friends, and traveled where ever the other one wanted to go. But sadly, this bond could not hold forever… Domani was sent to war, but Tobias was not permitted to join his friend to fight for there home. For Tobias was blind in one eye and could barely see. But he couldn’t stand letting his friend go alone. So, he snuck onto the truck and promised to win for his homeland.Tobias had a hatchet that was the perfect size to hide from an enemy. Domani had a battle axe that was almost as tall as him, that shined in the sunlight like gold. But when Domani realized Tobias was fighting with him he could barley move. He was paralyzed for his dear friend had just saved his life, and taken a bullet straight to the heart. He screamed then took his friends blade and though his rage he took out all enemy’s he could lay eyes on. His grief was so much that he had to do something he hoped would never have to be done. For Domani was a special blacksmith and had created those weapons for them with a special fail safe just in case something happened. The weapons could hold their souls, and combine with the other half of the axe. So they could fight together after death, as long as the other was alive. But there was a catch, once the war was over the one brought back from death and will be forced to stay with there weapon in that time of war for eternity. But Domani did not know this, for this kind of magic had never been used before. It was only a spell that could be cast by Domani’s family, and he was the last descendant. He wept after bring his friend back, and promised him they would win the war together. But once the war was over Tobias’s half of the weapon fell off of Domani’s half and became unable to lift. But before Tobias disappeared into the past, he said “I have to go now... I am sorry that I can’t travel with you anymore, but I must stay in the time where I died. But you can always be reminded of me through the weapon we are tied by. Just lay it on the ground in the war zone and you will always see my half near by. But for now, fare well, I will always cherish our time together.”

And that is the ending to my Legend of the Axe, featuring Domani and Tobias. The friends lost by time. But to be remembered through out history.
