I think the best part about this are the colors and the range of edge relationships. I like the way you treated the hair as a mass, and the shifts in coloration are very pleasing. I tend to focus more on color than anything else in my paintings, so I'm probably your ideal audience. :3
The anatomy is close, but feels a bit awkward, similar to the other large drawing of the man lying down (though maybe not as much), but that just gets down to more careful observation; I know the figure gets exponentially harder the bigger you go, so I don't really fault you on this (I have a painting I made this semester with a shrunken head :/). I'd just say make sure you're stepping back from the work more frequently, especially in the beginning stages when you're laying out the masses. Looking at it in reverse helps too (mirror).
Anyway, it's really great to see someone dedicated to accuracy. I'd love to see this in person.
You can see how detailed it is, even if it is a simple drawing. But what matters about this piece of art is how you're about to interprete it's meaning. Some may say it's just a naked woman, others may say it's the concrete representation of shyness itself and others may think that she's even holding something on her arms, and that she doesn't want to show anyone. Her posture indicates a simple person of many thoughts. Oh, and about your skills - an unexperienced eye could say it's a photograph! That's because her body is so detailed and, not making it seem like an artificial type of detail, makes up for a 5/5.
I really love the feeling of realism and seems you din't need much colour(or am I mistaking). But why is this in mature(m+)?Don't get it?
i don't think many people relieze the shear size
I mean 7 feet! that means shes almost life size right? how long did this take you? may god bless your artistic soul, and may he guide you through each remaining work that you do of this size. Incredible, this art is so amazing it has turned me into a holy man, lol. And may he also bless the model who kneeled for so long, did she have padding? what is she hiding? sorry for typing so many questions but i just chugged a red bull and now i'm wired. XD
Yeah thanks for noticing the size, I should really post a comparison to a live figure just to give an idea how huge it is. Also the model didn't have to sit all that long because I work largely from a series of reference photos i take.
I love how the skin tone worked out with the lighting. Her hair color looks quite nice too. I couldn't help but wonder if she's the same model I had in my figurative drawing class. This picture looks so much like her.
I doubt its the same girl, unless my girlfriend is taking trips to LA during the week.
