This is incredible. I know you put tons of work into this by how realistic it looks. I wish I was there because it looks absolutely divine. There's not too many artists here on Newgrounds who can make something look so real and breathtaking. I've looked at some of your other artwork too and I really wish you had more! But again, this painting looks like it has tons of work put into it along with your other artwork. The time you spend making these is not a waste, you have some serious talent. You know how to give a picture perspective and dimension. Specifically for this painting, you know how to put together the elements of nature. I really hope someday you make it big and gain a ton of fans, which you defiantly deserve.

You did a very nice job on this work. The coloration and design of the plant life is quite realistic and calming, the distant background nicely fits in with being hidden by fog, yet has a needed presence. The water just radiates its presence- its own life- as the strongest part of this work. The presence of heat and humidity also really jumps out.

For improvements, I would have to say to improve the definition of the edging of the plant life and the rock, but not in a way that detracts from the piece. There also needs to be a stronger wind sense to the location; the water perhaps needs a bit more of flowing nature to it. The background walls, while nicely present, seem to be a little colder than needed.

Yet you still created a very good piece. Keep at it.

SkyrisDesign responds:

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind

Very nice

Looks completely natural. Except for the, y'know, giant structure in the background. Makes me think of a "near-future war video game" type of thing.

Anyway, how do you want people to view this? From a distance, it looks realistic and dandy, but up close you can see the effects that you did on leaves how they're splotches of paint or a different style thing. In that way it looks odd since they stand out.

SkyrisDesign responds:

Yea I was just trying new ways to paint and I was trying to add more noise to the piece. I'm a new artist and I'm still trying to find a way to paint

Overall i really like it, I personally enjoy nature themed art and i find it a well captured scene. I would have liked more definition on the leaves and textures unless its ment to bee seen from afar, did you mean that?. Also you over did it with the fog but that's my opinion...

was this a really tranquil and quiet place you imagined? that's the feeling i get. There's no leaves flying around or air currents visible in the fog and the river isnt flowing, at least i dont see it flowing ( it's lacking foam or something to show its movement a little bit more). Well it all depends on what you meant to express.

I hope you find this constructive, its the sole purpose of my comment here, keep up the great job, i really liked the technices you used and the feeling it gives.

Also i'm not an artist my self, just a really compulsive observer !

SkyrisDesign responds:

Thanks for the comment! Yea I really wanted this place to be a " mystery " . Like a quiet, mysterious place hiding from ,society. And in the thick fog, a man made structure appears pulling the player towards it.
