This is my entry for Jazza's challenge of the month "Lord of the Hogwarts" (March 2017)!
Update: Runner-up / 2nd place

Beneath Sauron's armor, the Lord Voldemort reveals himself. With a ringwraith and a dementor by his side, his goal is to find the ring and rule both worlds. Basically, Lord Voldemort and Sauron became one person, the one true lord to rule them all. Good luck world...
The Eye of Sauron was always a reptile one, just sayin!...

Progress MEME: http://i.imgur.com/vqDINRl.jpg

Tools used: Adobe Photoshop CC, Wacom Bamboo
Time spent: around a full week, more than 35 hours...
* No photobashing, no photo textures, only tablet and brushes :)
* I already know how bad the forearm and the hands are, but that's a huge weak point for me -_-
* The neck might seem a little longer than usual proportions, but that's how Sauron seems to be under the armor :S

I'M NEVER RENDERING THAT MUCH METAL EVER AGAIN!
Nevertheless, it was quite the experience! I think that Sauron's helmet was the best part, BUT DAMN IT WAS HARD :)

* Edit 1: I think I overdid it with the chromatic aberration effect, so I reduced it a bit
* Edit 2 (after the challenge): Tiny small fixes and changed the thumbnail

This is so scary and really, really well drawn! I wish I knew how to draw steel like that!

Really well executed!

It's actually pretty damn easy! I used the "Gold Step by Step tutorial" from ConceptCookie, check it out :)

Great idea and well executed! I'm sure you do well in the challenge!
I can see all the effort. There're lots of details and you didn't cheat on any of them.
Couple of brighter shadows on the helmet and it would pop out even more but that's just my opinion...
Overall this is job wonderfully done! :)

Thank you for your kind words! I have to admit the lighting scenario on this one has so many flaws, but rendering that much metal was so challenging and overwhelming...
