I turned Mr. Miyazaki’s iconic scene into an illustration from Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbor Totoro. I never had the intention to make something like this but hey it happened. This was my first time drawing rain. Personally I think the rain tops the illustration off beautifully, even if its the first time.
Totoro’s shirt says
“夏に会った時”
Natsu ni atta toki
Which translates to
“When I met you in the Summer”
(via google translate)
I honestly don’t know why I drew Totoro with a shirt, I though it be funny and quirky for someone like Totoro.
I like slapping musical references in some of my work anyhow…
Assuming the setting for My Neighbor Totoro was with no doubt during the Summer.
