Timmy The Psychopath

Author Comments

Timmy is a ball with a face, legs, and arms. And he also happens to be a psychopath.

Really could use more work...

This isn't too bad, and like always... I get what you're trying to do here, but I think what most of your work lacks is DETAIL. I like what you did with the lone cloud in the sky though; the soft shading edge makes that look nice...

In most of your pictures though; the lines are choppy, very little intensive detail is taken care of, and the colors/ shading are very sloppy looking. I also don't understand why "Timmy" is so much bigger in comparison to the guy that he is killing.

Overall not bad, but could use serious work in the way of detail.

While I like your idea for Timmy the Psychopath, this isn't really that great of a piece.

First off, while your art isn't bad, it needs more detail. It needs to show people that you put alot of time and effort for a good product. This looks look like it took a decent amount of time to make, but it doesn't really feel like you put alot of effort into this.

I guess the biggest thing to me is that while the characters look decent and show your style, (they could still use some improvement) there are 2 things about this that feel out of place.
1. The gradients in the knife and lolipop don't fit the rest of the picture
2. The blood looks like a bunch of red lines that you just threw in there at the last second.

Overall, not the worstthing ever, but in need of alot of improvement.

Not the best

Does he have buttons for eyes? This piece is confusing on that part, because I look at it and think that if his eyes should be buttons, surely there must be four holes for the threads to go through in the traditional context.

MS Paint has never been a strong media for drawing. Unless you're really good, then you should be able to earn enough money to upgrade to something like Photoshop, Flash or something similar. I'd recommend Gimp, as that's free, if I recall. This will at least give you a feel for the tools available to the professional, even if you're still drawing with a mouse.

The best thing I can offer advice-wise is to zoom in, so you can get greater control over the cursor. When you've made it look decent, you can zoom out and see how it looks in actual size. This will take care of angular corners on round surfaces, like Timmy's jaw line and the jaw of his victim, which has an ugly thick black line around it, where you have corrected it.

With the black outlines, get them right, before filling, so you have the look you want, before adding colour to the proceedings. It will help you quite a bit. The next ambitious step you can take is to make the lolly a traditional red and white striped affair, so that you can show off you skills of putting uniform stripes in. A little margin for error is allowable, because of the manufacturing process, which helps you out ;)

Seems a tad simple/elementary for the art portal to me.

I got the concept and enjoyed it actually. The many different colors used in this really brought it all together. The crudeness of it, made it stand-out a lot more in a good way.

However, none of it seemed to be detailed to well, and the items used in this to make the creation are all items you can find in Paint. The background also did not seem to be detailed very well at all. Try researching Internet Painting/Flash and practice it a little more, add more detail and such. Or you could always find real-life stencils and do an actual painting in itself.

This belongs in a Flash more than it should just be a simple picture.
