Portrait of a Ball-Jointed Doll

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

This has a lovely soft feel to it, you've done a very good job! Her hair and skin especially. Her proportions are ever so slightly off in a few places like the neck/face width, and chest, that aside you've done really well. Keep up the great work!

Thanks you so much for your review,I know you are quite busy with these showcases. I used a doll as a reference, I don't think it's proportions were very accurate, I guess need to find other references, and work on my anatomy. Thanks again for your kind and helpful input.

Needs contrast and anatomy. Figure is flat and asymmetrical and colors are washed out. You should do color and value studies, as well as anatomy studies to make your painted figures look better. Still, its a good effort here.

Thank you so much for your review. I find it hard to get a softer feeling to my pictures without washing them out and it's something I'm trying to work on. As for her anatomy and stiffness, I didn't mention this in the comment, but this was my first time trying to use a Ball Jointed doll as a model. Thanks again for your comment!

Also I know plenty of sources to learn and study anatomy, but I find ot harder to find color and value studies.

It's realistic yet it isn't boring.
