Sometimes our thoughts can overcome every facet of life in ways similar to a parasite.

I don't know if you would classify this as a sketch, however, this is a finished work which I did put a fair amount of time into. It's my favorite style and I wish for it to be seen by a community that gives a rats ass about art. (ie. Not uploaded to facebook :P)

Some things I'll note, looking back on it:

I absolutely wish I had added on to the left side of the piece. Though, I have a bit of a quirk that once I sign the piece, I'm finished with it for good and absolutely refuse to touch it up in any way, even if it would greatly improve it.

Even now, I still love how realistic I managed to get the bricks to appear. At the time I drew it, I believed the vines were amazing; though there are a lot of things I would do now differently than when I originally drew it for an art class in high school. (Though I drew it for myself and submitted it after the fact for an assignment in texture.)

At the time I drew it, I was exceptionally depressed, (though since being thrown into the real world after school, losing my first child and love I can hardly call my experiences in 2009 anything to be depressed over.) I was attempting to literally illustrate the melancholy thoughts and feelings I was having as spreading, covering, and taking over my mental health or being.

I apologize for the low image resolution, I have misplaced the portfolio it's a part of, and this is the largest resolution I have of it. If I can delete my submission later when I find that portfolio, I'll do so and upload a higher res; and if not I'll link it to a post in the forums.
