Working on the new Tethys reminded me of my Heads and Hands classes in college. The most interesting models are older adults because of their bone and musculature. So with Tethys I'm adding more surface geometry to her face. The lighting will be more dramatic and more interesting.
Since I have the technique down, greater detail won't take longer to render. Only the initial model will be the most time consuming part and that's just all about design decisions - what makes sense and what looks cool.
This part pictured is the side of her head near one of her deurons (tube structure). On Blortus, deurons are used to receive electrical signals. They are equivalent to Human ears.
