This is an updated version of my previous submission for Pixel Day 2016 that I decided to reupload; a pixel drawing of a small town under a chill summer moonlight that was done entirely on Flash. Many of the buildings and such in this piece was art taken from a game I was making which never saw the light of day. However, I didn't want to let all those hours I had put into it go to waste, so I reused them for this piece right here. Enjoy!

Also HUGE shoutout to @ChronoNomad for suggesting this awesome title, thanks dude!

I think you should definitely make more pixel artworks, because this one is very well done. I like the amount of detail you put into your work and the variety of the buildings. Great job!

Great! It looks straight from the original days of spriting back in 2007ish and gives me nostalgia chills. But, it does get blurry in some places, such as the people sprites, and the Casino and City Hall. Keep it up!

This is nice. I like the shading. Have you ever tried making an animated version of something like this? This looks like it would make a great backdrop for a retro-style 2d side-scroller game.

If you put the far side of the street on it's own layer/split it off into its own separate entity and have it scroll by at a slightly slower speed than the close side, you could give it the illusion of depth. This technique is used frequently in the background animations of a lot of old school side-scrollers like the 90s Sonic games.

I would also recommend adding more detailed lighting effects. You can make the street lights stand out more by making the entire scene slightly darker and casting a cone of light down from each one illuminating the ground below. You might also try adding coronas around the lights/other lit-up areas such as windows to make them "glow" a little more.

Overall this is some nice pixel art, so good job man :)

If you made parts of the picture abit darker it would be easier to highlight the "important" stuff like the street lights and casino. I am nowhere as good at you with pixelart tho. Can barely make a greenblob. So go on and continue being creative.
