this definitely doesn't belong in the trash
A recreation of S. J. Q. Tentacles' iconic artwork within the medium of watercolor on cotton paper
I boldly protest the dismissive attitude of modern art critics and large areas of society alike: this work is not belonging of being thrown into a trash can, it is infact movement defining within its own field of visual arts. It very obviously should be grouped alongside other important avant garde and outsider art pieces. A confident self-portrait, much alike many pieces of Frida Kahlo, but using a style more akin the works of pop-art artists (the use of bold colors and simple shapes much akin to cartoons) with a hint of influence from japanese woodblock print perhaps in its flatter composition and minimal color useage, which has also famously influenced the austrian painter Klimt. I believe Tentacles' pieces are not truely naive art nor even pseudo-naive however, but in fact part of a wholy unique art-movement which even after all this time has yet to be given a name
Though with Mr. Tentacles' monumental impact on it, I believe calling it "Squidwardianism" is the only truely worthy term.
It and its genius original creator deserve more recognition and respect, I dare say.
this definitely doesn't belong in the trash
now THIS is ART
Of course, one must appreciate the true contrarian exercise in thoughtful effort from an artistic mind. A fine effort!
Bold and brash, remember, your not trash to me
I Love it
