The Vexon and The Lights

Yeah, so a guy in the art forum named Zombie-Eskimo asked me to do his character, the Vexon.

So I did, but with my own twists. I'm also trying very hard to improve with lighting/shading at the moment, so I placed my iteration of the Vexon in front of a bright light.
The other lights are in the distance, hence the lack of reflection on Mr. Vexon here.

The lighting is looking really good. I think you should have made the background darker that way the lights would seem brighter. It seems unrealistic how the vexon is darker then the sky, perhaps if the sky was bluer? Your style is still looking awesome, you should be really great once you perfect lighting and make your drawing more detailed :)

Vexons are black in color. Unless I make the sky pitch black (which would rend the Vexon invisible), it would be darker. I suppose I should have chose a slightly brighter sky, with more purple or blue.
