Madame Prisme

This is Madame Prisme, the embodiment of color itself (or herself).

She's a character I doodled down a while back (about a year and a half ago), but this is my first time working her into a proper piece of art. The prismatic ghosts are characters I used to draw very frequently, though this is their first time appearing digitally.
I've been procrastinating with this piece like mad, but here it is, and I think I've finished it. There are tons of little things that bother me about this, but I kind of like the end result as a whole.

Comments and critique are appreciated. I always respond.
Painted in Corel Painter 11. No idea how long it took.

Very Nice!

One of the first things I see is the greatly varying color, well done, may I add.
Each of the colored entities gives off a slim amount of light that you can dimly see reflecting off of either Madame Prisme [The assumed main character in this drawing] or the line of bricks, assumably a stone balcony of some sort.

It feels, ambient. And in other places, the mood is confusing.
All the colored entities are smiling in general.
But... [I can't tell if this was done on purpose by the artist or not]
The Red one on the left has the largest grin, while the Purple one on the right has the lesser grin.

In the middle, I can't tell what Madame Prisme is thinking.
Her head is tilted.
Arms are between her lap. [Which could represent many things, from anxiety to depression or maybe even relaxation.]
I become mesmerized every time I look into her eyes, because I can't tell.
The way those... eyes... are separated I could see 4 different expressions.
I'll never know...

It's mysterious, something that i'm looking forward to keep me awake next weekend.

Overall, this is a fantastic work!
Every time I make something, I look back at my work, only to notice the imperfections. But to me, this could hardly get any better.

Good Work and Good Luck!
Sincerely, fratcow.

Thank you for dropping me a review, especially such an extensive one.
The ghosts do have a wide range of moods (though all are at least a bit happy), and I kind of intended for the differing details and shapes around each to represent a different personality behind each color.
The mood was intended to be somewhat ambiguous, though I mostly imbued it with positive feelings. Madame Prisme can seem evil or mischievous or just kind of happy, and her face is supposed to resemble a grin. I generally think of her as being the last of those (after all, she's the spirit of color itself, and color is usually a good thing, especially when it's as bright as she is), but it's up to the viewer to decide what she is. The arms are really more of just a leaning forward position than anything.
I'm kind of surprised that anybody analyzes my drawings to this extent, but I like that. I'm glad you like it!

I like this, kinda gives me that sinister type of art work and I like it how its dark in the background and everything else is colorful. Keep it up this is good.

Luxembourg responds:

Thank you for the kind comment and score. Sadly, "sinister" is kind of what I'm trying to move AWAY from, but it's hard to move away from what naturally comes to your hand when drawing; for me, that's darkness, though I try to make my darkness as happy and pleasant as I can.
Glad you like the colors. Thanks!
