Had to change the named, there original seemed a little too comical. Me and Daruak even wrote up an alternate backstory for the character too.

Verima remembered the night she was born. On that fateful evening, Roden had gone to meet his sensei. The old oni blade-mistress had been training him for years, changing the ill-tempered street thug he'd once been into a calmer, more focused man. They sparred, and though he still could not defeat her, she said that his training was complete. She offered him an elixir - THE elixir - specially prepared just for the occasion. He'd seen it in her keeping dozens of times, and always been tantalized by the potential it would supposedly unleash when imbibed. He'd reached out and taken it from her... 

...and then the demons had burst through the windows of the old manor house, and descended upon them. His sensei's blade sung through the air and three of them were cut down, but it was futile. There were thousands - thousands, pouring through the windows. She'd screamed for him to flee with the elixir, and as her blade continued to sing, he'd done as he was told and run out the manor's back entrance. He'd lived...and yet, when he finally stopped running, he died. Consumed by guilt over abandoning his sensei, he drank the elixir in the hopes that it would give him the strength to go back for her. 

It did give him strength, in a way. As the elixir passed down Roden's throat, the fledgling warrior was reborn as the Orc Ninja Verima. She took up a new sword, and with vengeance for her sensei in her heart, set out to hunt down those responsible for that night's attack!
